We're planning on moving our site to a cloud based service, preferably with Amazon AWS. Our systems engineer is recommending Amazon's RDS - relational database service, thus, the Amember database would be reside on a separate server then the web server. Anyone know if this doable? Additionally, anyone one hosting their site and Amember with any form of Amazon AWS?
Yes, aMember Pro v4 demo is hosted on AWS without any problems. aMember will work with Amazon RDS which is simply Amazon-managed MySQL server instance. However, I recommend you to think twice before move to cloud. Simple example - I am now moving out from Amazon, and I got 2-x faster server (on reliable hosting, with 3-tier world connection) 3 times cheaper! So if your task is not easy to parallel, there is no advantage to use cloud.
