I am noticing that my shopping cart is supported by verisign payflow link. I have them talking to one another. Then when I install Amember I also point it into verisign and even have some settings in verisign pointing back to ipn files on my Amember installation. This appears to bypass my shopping cart system. This does not seem good. Is this the way Amember operates?

I am apparently not getting my site setup anywhere like I had hoped. I want people to be able to buy memberships but also buy more than one or buy additional products such as T-Shirts, DVDs. Is that NOT going to happen?

    Thanks

I really don't understand why you are saying so: "Is this the way Amember operates?" Is not it also the way your shopping cart operates??

PayFlow Link only allows to have one postback URL set, and it cannot be changed by aMember. It is PayFlow, not aMember problem!

I guess a better explanation is this. Whether I use payflow or any other payment service the Amember plugin talks to them and they talk back. There doesn't appear to be anyway that Amember can utilize a shopping cart. So if I sell 20 different downloaded products then when the person uses the Amember signup page there are 20 items on that list for products they can subscribe to. They would have to scroll down the whole list or from the member page they would add a subscription and choose from 20 products in a dropdown list. If they want to buy product A, B and C they would have to fill out a credit card and order 3 total times. This also costs me 3 transactions instead of one.

I can configure a shopping cart, which I have, and it works fine with verisign also but there is no way to make Amember shopping cart aware and this appears to have nothing to do with verisign. If I am wrong this would mean that someone out there using amember is interfacing a shopping cart and a payment system that works. I wouldn't mind knowing what that setup uses.

I'm not trying to point fingers. I am trying to find a solution and this stuff is not really documented in any way that I can find. You buy the products then as you begin implementing them you start finding out limitations and capabilities.

I have amember fully functioning as a standalone product but it does not appear to be working to my full expectations with multiple products. It appears that if someone wants to subscribe to my magazine and also purchase 2 more guitar lessons they will have to enter 3 full credit card transactions to do so and the purchase signup/member sheet only provides limited control of what is displayed for each product. A basic text description of each.

The problem in the future will be the fact that every issue has new lessons so after a few years I will have 20-30 products crammed on that list on the signup page instead of a nice shopping cart. I'll be honest if I had understood this more clearly upfront I would have questioned whether this was the right solution. I also emailed in and asked for some help integrating and it seems like I was communicating on a different wave length.

Hopefully now this post makes more sense as to the goals and needs I have for my business. Maybe you or someone has some valuable advise based on this description of my dilemma.

    Thanks for reading,
    LB

I think you missed my point. Of course I understand that but even two postbacks would not integrate the shopping cart with amember. Even with that solution each program would interface with verisign totally independently. What I am asking for is a shopping cart integration into amember so the purchasing of subscriptions is not so crude and one product at a time. Either amember would need this built in. Or interface through a shopping cart somehow. Does that make more sense? My question seems really straight forward to me.

(PLEASE ALSO SEE MY PREVIOUS POST ABOVE)

    Thanks

    1. You can enable aMember Cp -> Setup -> Advanced : Select Multiple Products on signup page. It will partially resolve problem.

    2. aMember is really not suitable for long list of products. aMember Pro has one-step signup interface that works really better for short list, but for lot of products there should be a shopping cart interface. We are working to implement shopping cart interface, but it won't be finished soon.

    3. Unfortunately, aMember Pro cannot be integrated with your shopping cart, because aMember itself do the same as a shopping cart.

Thanks, that addresses the problem in the future. I think I can get started using Amember as it is now. Maybe by the time my product list gets pretty long the shopping cart functionality would possibly be in beta or release. I sure hope it's a solid item on the list. If I can assist with any kind of beta program I would like to try.

Come on guys... 5 years passed since you said this, and still no improvement on this feature?

You'd better specify an exact term when a Shopping Cart will be added to aMember, or don't make such affirmations, letting people wait forever...
