Thank you. I will contact Godaddy and see what they say. When I ran the tester.php file it indicated that the ionCube test failed.

I will post back when I hear back from GoDaddy.

    Check that.

I deleted what I had in my subdomain and downloaded the installation files from the 'net again. This time instead of using Dreamweaver to upload the files I used WS_FTP and ran the install again.

It works as expected now. At least I get to the admin page.

    Thanks

    Hi!
The very best ftp client is WinSCP, secure and safe.

I highly recommend to use it rather than unsecure ftp programs.

    The website is here:

    WinSCP3 Homepage >>>

It gives you all the possibilities, like using SSH commands from FTP itself. So by this you can zip a folder or a file from ftp and download or viseversa.

    figured it out

Okay, so I was having the same problem. I was uploading with dreamweaver 8 in binary format. Then because the only answer amember would give was "upload in binary" I started trying other ftp software. I first tried Dreamweaver, then my host's web-gased FTP program, then Cyberduck, then finally I tried Fetch. Note that I am not stupid and thus made sure that binary was always the selected mode of transfer.

ONLY FETCH WORKED. I don't know why, and I still don't understand, but if you are getting this problem (especially on the Mac), then I recommend trying Fetch (and choosing to upload in Binary (Raw) format). Choosing binary in other Mac FTP programs wasn't doing the trick for me.

All in all I got it figured out. Yay.

Just so you all know the best way to ensure a perfect upload is to upload the ZIP to your HTML directory and then SSH into your server and use the lunix command UNZIP to get a perfect copy in under 1 minute rather then waiting for hundreds of slow 1 by 1 files to upload

rror: Incompatible file format: The encoded file has format major ID 0, whereas...

Alex keeps insisting the only way this error can occur is via ftp ascii/binary transfer.

Yet he continues to tell people to upgrade to the latest Zend.

Too bad the tester.php script allows success when the final script fails. Apparently it does not check your zend/ioncube version.
