    Hi,

I am testing aMember and I have run into two problems.

    1) When I click "Protect Folder" - my browser just hangs and times out. In Firefox I get a "Save as..." box popup and in IE I just get a time-out.

I have no idea why it does this but when I clear my cookies I can use my admin aMember cpanel again - unless I press "Protect Folder" then it all hangs and times out again.

I have tried re-uploading the files again, clearing cookies, allowing browsers to accept all cookies, tested it in Windows x64 (Firefox 1.5) and Vista (IE7) but I just cannpt fix it. Every single time I click Protect Folder it all stops working!

Is there any problem me simply adding the .htaccess manually? That is what I have been doing so far.

I have been copying this from my 1st product directory and simply copying/pasting into other folders I want protected:

    Code:
    ########### AMEMBER START #####################
    Options +FollowSymLinks
    RewriteEngine On

    ## allow access for product #1
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_COOKIE} amember_nr=([a-zA-Z0-9]+)
    RewriteCond /home/zool/public_html/clients/data/new_rewrite/%1-1 -f
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ - [L]

    ## if user is not authorized, redirect to login page
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.zool.com/clients/plugins/protect/new_rewrite/login.php?v=%1-1&url=%{REQUEST_URI}?%{QUERY_STRING} [L,R]
    ########### AMEMBER FINISH ####################
    2) Second, minor problem, is that Nochex does not process payments as complete.

I have the exact same problem, don't see why I should manually have to create a .htaccess file, Amember should work properly you know, as it's a paid for product.

Every time I click "Protect Another Folder" - It just hangs, and I have to restart Apache to get it working again.

I to have tried other browsers etc, but it keeps on hanging.

Please can someone help as this seems a bug.

Please help me on this also!

I have had the exact same problem, it works with the trial ver, but when I upgrade to the pro, which I paid for, it stops working and hangs, has anyone found anything out about this yet? I don't want to hand create all these **** files, that is why I bought this script.

I would check the permissions of your directory and .htaccess file.

Test with CHMOD 777 to see if the behavior changes and then back it down to the appropriate permissions.

I think part of the problem is the dreaded:

Problems get resolved, yes, but the knowledge infrequently makes it back into the forums.
