Ok, I just realized today that if I set up the pricing on my product at X, for example, and a user signs up for that subscription (recurring, monthly or whatever)... in case I change the price of the product to Y or change the trial period or change anything about it, the subscription already created by the user in paypal doesn't get cancelled/updated/changed.

I had to find this out the hard way - ending up with $1400 in my account from people who should've had the product/subscription for free instead.

How do I deal with this issue?

I'm not sure how to deal with this issue. You cannot change price of existing subscription in PayPal.

    hmm... true.

I guess getting a merchant account where you can customize the subscription rates is a better option.

speaking of which, how hard is it to come up with a plugin for Canadian merchant account processors... shouldn't be that hard, I guess? what are you requirements, what do you need in order to integrate amember into any merchant account processor?

It says right on the screen in the admin area that changes to a product don't affect existing subscribers.

Most membership sites I've seen are like that- whatever price you join at is your price forever, even if they raise their rates.

Are Canadian processors different than other ones? What needs to be different for Canada? There are a lot of processors already supported in amember.

when you say Beanstream is already supported, does that mean that you were able to integrate their Interac payment option as well? (that would be nice addition)

and there are a bunch of other merchant services/payment processors up here (like PsiGate.com, just off the top of my head), so I'm wondering what would you require to create a plugin for one of those in case I decide to sign up with them instead of Beanstream (if I find better pricing)...?

Yes, there are, but only 2-3 are Canadian companies and only 1 of them offers recurring billing option.

My client requires a Canadian merchat account/payment processor with a recurring billing option, which kinda narrows that "huge" list of processors to only 1...

psiGate using recurring payments and amember affiliate

I will have psigate up and running this week and I want to confirm that the affiliate program will track recurring orders, expired cards, cancelations etc...

Also I would like to know that amembers will know these things as well for when someonce cancels or is expired their meership will stop them access.

    Your help would be Great
