I've seen the listing of compatible payment systems supported by aMember and read through several of the posting in this forum. From what I gather the best way to take advantage of aMember's reoccurring billing and other features is to use a payment system that stores the credit cards in the aMember database? Here is what I am trying to do and maybe someone can suggest the best payment system. We are starting a typically subscription site and want the members who sign up to be automatically billed every 30 days without any overhead from us. We do not want to have to do anything manually. When I say manually I mean we don't want to have to remove members from the aMember database if a subscripton is cancelled. We want it all done automatically. Now it seems like this is possible if we keep the CC information in the aMember database but is it possible if we do not want to do that for security reasons? Thank you.
Yes, but I can recommend it ONLY if you have a dedicated server, configured by a qualified Unix / network security professional. I cannot recommend it on shared webhosting.
For most websites, specially targeted to USA auditory, I recommend PayPal - it is most secure, cheap and reliable way.
is there a way to use aMember & paypal with recurring billing without having the customer go to paypal's site to manage the subscription? it's fine if paypal stores the cc info, but i don't want the customer to have to visit the paypal site to change/cancel their subscription. are recurring subscriptions better accomplished with paypal's payflow, rather than website payments pro?
No, PayPal does not provide such ability. 1) PayPal Payments Standart - requires customer signup 2) PayPal Payments Pro - do not support recurring billing AT ALL 3) PayFlow is not more secure than any other cc payment plugin
