    Hello Alex!

The following feature DOES NOT WORK:

Do not allow spaces in username

I have it clicked and users are still able to register with spaces inbetween.

I hope to see a lot of bugs ironed out in the next release...

    Hi draj,

Until you posted this message I thought you WERE Alex in disguise hehe, as you have been so active with useful information on this forum. Which is great.

Seriously though I have been visiting the forums regularly of late hoping to see if there has been a new release of aMember, but the last one was a few months ago now. And Alex has been absent from the forum for a couple of weeks.

I hope that there will be a new release soon.

    David

I write some message here while taking a break or drinking a cup of tea. I am quite fast in typing actually. So the messages you see here normally do not take more than a few min. until my tea is lukewarm.

But that did not really explain the corelation with Alex. Well, thats a nice joke...
And most likely you will also not see him so often until a new version comes out, I suppose. Uh, I speculate. He is working on a new beta which will be very nice for everyone. It will also include Ajax drop-downs of countries and states.

I found that out because he wrote to myself that he is working hard on it and does not have a beta yet. That means there are many good changes coming. Now if a beta is not ready, then it will take atleast a month before a stable comes out. So you cn go on a vacation... ;-) ;-) ;-)

I got impatient and tried to successfully implement xajax dropdown of countries, states & cities working today. I just could not wait and did not want to be dependent, actually... Right from the begining, I refused to use the default country, states & cities from amember. So I developed my own programming and now I added Web 2.0 i.e. Xajax to it. It works like charm. This means I have about half a few hundred thousand countries, states, cities and they all willbe loaded dynamically WITHOUT THE PAGE to be loaded again!!! ;-) So I am eager to see what Alex will bring out in the near future.

It was not so easy to make it work with smarty tempates. So I would not need what Alex is doing, which is a bit disappointing...
