If im going to install amembers using SSL do I need to install it in the https folder or doesn't matter? or can be installed in httpdocs not secure pages what's the recommendation?
If you need a secure connection you'll need to install a SSL certificate. But it doesn't matter if you do this before or after the install of your amember. Just make sure you get your certificate for the licensed amember domain and don't forget enter the "www." in front of your domain when you purchase the secure certificate. So if you already have amember installed on: http://www.yoursite.com/amember, then once you have your certificate installed on server all you need is to change the http to https and you got yourself a secure connection.
Question...If my amember site license doesn't have the "www." on it and my SSL cert has the "www." on it, will this cause a problem with my site? The reason I'm asking is because everytime I try to go to a secure amember area on my site, amember uses the URL without the "www." and I get a SSL certificate error stating that the URL does not match the URL on the certificate. I tried to get amamber to update my site license to add the "www." but it doesn't seem like they understand my request. Any suggestions?
No. Change amember CP -> Setup -> Global -> Secure Root URL to url with "www." everything should work right then.
I've already done that and it still doesn't work. Are you the same person I'm talking to on the ticket? If so, I guess I'll just wait for you to respond to my last comments on the ticket. This is very frustrating.
