Hello, This is probably a really stupid question, but here goes. I'm using amember with moodle. On the amember product pages, I need to enter a URL so that on the account page, the course link will go to the correct moodle course. I have tried several different urls and they all seem to produce circular redirects back and forth between moodle and amember or they require the user to login on moodle, which is supposed to happen automatically. Thanks, Kivi
So I see from gswaim's nice videos that I don't need to put in a product URL. But the problem still remains. On the "Membership Information" page in amember, under "Your Subscriptions" the course is listed, but it is NOT linked to anything, so the student has no way of getting to her courses via this page. I have confirmed that the product has moodle access to the correct course. When I manually type in the url for the main moodle page, the student is logged in, so do believe the two databases are communicating. I just need that live link to the course on the amember page. Advice? Thanks, Kivi
I'm slowly hunting this down, but would love some help . . . I'm using the alternate login URL in Moodle, which redirects to the amember login page. In moodle, it tells me this: "If you enter a URL here, it will be used as the login page for this site. The page should contain a form which has the action property set to [My moodle login page ULR] and return fields username and password." How the heck do I do that? Which amember page am I supposed to edit? I also removed the alternate login in Moodle and that had no effect -- still no live link under the Membership info to the paid courses. Kivi
1. What Product URL for Moodle Integration? In the Product Url you need to type the course page you would like you customer to visit: something like this "http://yourhostname/moodle/course/view.php?id=5" This would create a link from the members page from where members can directly go their course page instead of moodle's front page 2. "If you enter a URL here, it will be used as the login page for this site. The page should contain a form which has the action property set to [My moodle login page ULR] and return fields username and password." This is a warning/instruction message from moodle. These are the instructions how to create your own custom designed login forms and associated scripts. This is what amember scripts actually doing. For regular members/students you need not worry about this and amember scripts would take care of logins and logouts. During login from amember, it passes on the username, password and associated details to moodle database and permits them to enter moodle courses. Amember login page does not support moodle admin login. You need a slight work around to do this. I will prepare a detailed integration notes (in pdf) in another two or three days.
Admin Login Workaround? Hi, I would really grateful to know what the admin login workaround is when you set moodle to redirect to the amember login page. My moodle - amember integration is working well - with the exception of the moodle admin login. Currently i am "hacking" my way in as moodle admin but would love to see a neater solution. Thanks Nathan
It is quite simple. You create an user in amember. Login in to your moodle with your exisiting admin user account. Change the role of the amember user created earlier (by default it would be student) to moodle administrator. Point the moodle login page towards amember login page. The amember user would now be recognized as moodle admin
Did you get a chance to finish the detailed moodle integration notes? I would really appreciate looking at them
Moodle Integration documentation Here is my pdf file describing how to integrate amember with moodle. The file is about 630 kB (sorry it has become too big because of many screenshots). You may get the file from here Sorry I could not attach the file because of large size.
kivileroux Can you give a link to your site using aMember and Moodle? I am looking for sample site that are successful using these packages. Thanks
I'm having kivi's problem I am experiencing EXACT problem Kivi is writting about. My amember was not sending people to amember sign-up. So I set amember login as alternative login. Now I can go to moodle index page (on my site) and I'm directed to sign-up at amember. I'm asked to register. I haven't been able to set any products yet. Just free membership. So I am stuck really stuck in the amember registration page. I can't go back in to moodle to delete that bloddy line. Do I need to uninstall and reinstall. please please please help. This has been a nightmare I'd like to wake up asap
That was exactly what I needed to get my integration finished. Thanks so much!Between your document and the aMember support person, I was able to set it up successfully. I only wished I found it at the beginning. It would have knocked off at least a couple of hours of my process. Hats off to you and the support team.
