Don't make the mistake i made. If you import your Vbulletin users in Amember it will reset all passwords. Just don't ever do this. It will kill your forum. I'm blaming Amember but actually i'm the one to blame. What was i thinking when i reset 20.000 passwords! Yes, you can mail them but with spam filters nowadays you never know how many mails are gonna arrive. Also, Amember suggests sending a mail with their new password attached. The code that should show a password in the message actually shows a date. Clearly a script error. So i mailed 20k people of which bunches didnt get the mail in the first place and the rest got a mail saying: Your new password is: 18/12/2007 Then also different usergroups....the script completely mixes them up when mailing a certain usergroup. I mailed several usergroups seperatly and the script made it a total mess. Everybody got the wrong mails with the wrong info. Right now there also seems to be a bug in the phonebilling link Amember creates when using Ccbill. I'm gonna have to mail them about it but so far customer support is some of the worst ive experienced. Basically, i 100% regret using Amember, its the shittiest script ive used in a long time and right now, my forum which is build up for almost a year and spend 1000's on, went from super busy to a ghosttown. Nobody can login, nobody can find their new password and everybody is simply moving on. Thanks Amember!
Please see my questions in other post. What you mean by this? Please explain. Did you run more then one mail process at the same time? of course this will not work. I didn't got any message from you yet. Frank, I repeat everything can be fixed. Instead of posting such angry messages without any explanation, let's try to fix this. You can contact us in helpdesk and we can shedule a chat session.
I too made this same mistake about an hour ago (before reading this post). At least our forum is just starting up, so I'm not as freaked out... YET! But I'm FAR from happy about this. In our case the emails went out but no one can login with the reset passwords! Have already submitted a ticket, waiting to see how long it takes to fix this.
