    Hi there,

I am going far too many members moaning they are not getting their validation emails. I have tested the system to myself and although it went in the spam folder it did get through.

Has anyone come up with a reliable way of dealing with these problems or ways to help members?

    any advice appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. I'll have a look.

I did look into something about an aol white list but thats a right pain for someone who is non technical and they are impossible to contact.

not the best way, but I tell them to ditch aol and get free mail.

Advise your users on the signup page to avoid aol, hotmail and yahoo email accounts.

We recommend gmail accounts - they seem to work well at the moment.

As another user suggested - periodically check the spam blacklists and see if you're on them.

I had issues in the past, here are some steps I took:

    1) Ensured that I was not only any black lists and if I was went through the process to remove
    2) Posted on my signup, thanks and FAQ page to be sure to check their JUNK/SPAM in case messages were mis-delivered. If so to click the "This is not junk mail"

After a while of #2 the problem resolved itself. My theory here is that if you have enough distributed "trusted" users that are bestowing their trust on you then you build credibility.

Obviously keep a close eye on observing bounces, unsubscribes, etc.

Thanks folks, some great advice there! I'm certainly going to look into this as I generally get a large % daily that do not pay and think it may be part of the problem.

i often have more that don't pay than those that do.

I just thought om my problem to this is that me memberships control their vbulletin forum accounts so email has to match what is on vbulletin for signup to go through so at this stage it's probably a bit late to put that on my signup form for amember.
