Hi, I'm trying to help a friend out by seting up his new membership website. We had CGI Central install the aMember Pro software but now we need to know how to set it up.

Is there a step-by-step guide or an example website we could view that shows us how to set up the sign-up and login pages?

I've looked over the http://manual.amember.com/FAQ site but I don't see any explicit instructions on how to do this.

We have our main site at http://www.website-domain.com/ (example only not a real site) and from what I understand we should provide a link from the index page to signup.html or should it be signup.php?

I assume I need to do the same thing (provide a link) that points to the login.html (or .php) so existing members can login?

Thanks for helping this aMember newbie.

    Will do, thanks.

One problem I ran into was after setting up the membership site, when I sign up for a premium membership, instead of sending me to PayPal to pay for the membership it tells me to check my email for the activation link and after I click on the activation link it says my account has been activated and then it sends me to PayPal to pay for the membership.

To me, this doesn't make any sense since anyone could just close the paypal window (not pay) and then access my Premium content pages.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I can give you the actual domain name if that would help. I didn't post it in the OP because I didn't want it to appear like I was self-promoting the website.

Not sure why Alex removed that PDF manual...
