If I understand how affiliate tracking workds, the affiliate must be added to the Amember database to obtain their own tracking code. They can get this unique tracking code by going to their member page and clicking on the affiliate page. That said, how does one become an affiliate without paying for one of my subscriptions? Obviously I would like to sign-up affiliates without having them to pay for one of my member subscriptions.

    Thanks!

    Hi David,
Thanks for the info. I searched for the AMember manual - couldn't find the link.

    Hi,

This is kind of old but I have 2 questions:

1.- Is it possible to include the PAYPAL field on aff_signup.php? If so, How?

2.- Is it possible to include the option to already suscribed members to find a link to sign up as affilaites without having to create a new username?

    thanks.

Why? Then you should use a regular signup form.

They can click a link on the members page that allows them to become affiliates.

Thank you for the exhaustive and deep response David.

I don't understand either of your responses.

1.- How "Why"? on aff_signup.php there is no Paypal field for affiliate.I would like to have their paypal address for payments when they sign up. What is the "regular sign up form"?

2.- How do I include a link on the Members page that allow them to become affiliate with their already subscribed details?

    1. This will require customization. Contact us in helpdesk we will help.
    2. Link will be available only if you set affiliate programm type to default.

The reason is because you need their paypal address to pay affiliates. MOST affiliate programs take the payment information and tax id of the affiliate at affiliate sign up.

aff_signup.php for some reason omits this important information.

    In my opinion aff_signup.php should:

    1. Have an option to create a membership level for the affiliate so they can see parts of the member area. In my case I send JV partners to aff_signup.php. Otherwise people who are members automatically become affiliates. I might want to let a JV partner have access to a membership level to see some of the members area and be able to better review the content in their advertising and promotion of my web site.

    2. Have a section on how the affiliate wants to be paid. If I have selected multiple affiliate payment options it should give me all the options. In the case of paypal, moneybookers, etc it should have an option for the email address associated with paypal, moneybookers, etc.

    3. Have a section on tax id info for payments and for me to send them a 1099 tax form. It used to to be required for payments of over $600 and laws may be changing to require us to have this for all of our affiliates.
