Has anyone ever done anything like this - created another version of Incremental Content plugin that allows you to set up links (that don't get attached to any specific product) and allows you to attach them to any number of products (not just one, but multiple products at a time), just so this link doesn't have to be added to each and every product out there. The reason why I'm asking is because I have a challenge of sorts - 20+ core products, and each one has to have 2-3 incremental links defined (and these 2-3 links are all the same), so instead of adding these links to each and every one of the 20 core products (every month, as they will be updated monthly with specific start/end dates), is there a way to add them once and then assign them to specific products? Alex, you guys every done this before yourself?
Whats the time distribution on the incremental links? If they are within the 1st payment period, you can make 1 central incremental product and then use larry's complimentary plugin to add that product when they order one of your other ones. David
Got in touch with him already, trying to figure out an alternative, as that solution won't work... Here is the actual product set up, for a better idea of what I'm dealing with: There are 20 core products. And each one has to have a few links (incremental, possibly) updated every month (with specific dates of the month for the start and end of availability). So, I was thinking of simply creating 3-4 secondary products, add incremental link to each, and then using the complimentary plugin to assign those to the core products. That way, every month only those 3-4 secondary products would have to have their incremental links edited (one in each, so only 3-4 changes every month), instead of going through 20 different core products and changing up to 4 links in each, which could amount up to 80 different link changes/updates every month. But complimentary plugin, even with modifications to add more than 1 complimentary product to a core product, doesn't expire those complimentary products when the core product expires/is cancelled (and that's the purpose of it - when the core product is cancelled, the access to all the links from secondary products should be revoked). Then I looked at the incremental plugin, as maybe a modification to it would allow the same thing in a different way - creating "global" incremental links of sort, and then assigning them to a range of products. That way again, only 3-4 links would have to be updated each month. But, as Alex has said, the plugin doesn't do that... Alex, is a modification/custom plugin like that even possible? Again, I'm willing to pay for it, of course, but need to know if any of the above is possible or am I asking for impossible and should just move on accepting the fact that there's gonna be a lot of updating each month to be done?
So as I understood you need to add secondary products to user account when user purchase primary product and need to expire secondary products when primary product will be expired? If so this is possible as simple customization. I can help with this.
