I need to stop users from signing up for free trials twice. (Planning for the future). User account in amember can be made instant access w/a fake name and email address. So I would love if Paypal (the pmt processor) could flag accounts that rejoin for the same subscription. I know I could just monitor the canceled users. my real question is - Terms of my membership are that if you cancel you can NEVER rejoin (Good idea?). How can i keep them scared enough to never try to quit? Otherwise they might try to join, get the free goods, quit. Join, get the free goods, quit.
This is possible to customize aMember and ban these users by IP for example. So when user will signup and cancel, IP will be banned and user will not be able to signup again from that IP.
But... That would work, but they can change a dynamic IP. And, if I use * I may accidentally ban other people in their city right??
There's an easy way around it... charge $1 trial fee. That way they'll have to go through their paypal account every time they sign up... or use their credit card in some way. Much easier to track than IPs that can be changed whenever you wish
I thought the free trial shows up in paypal anyway? After creating an account, they have to enter their payment info before they can start the free trial. Sorry if I forgot to mention that. They could still create a 2nd user id, but would have to pay using the same credentials.
