    We are looking for a cart that lets the enduser sign up for a paid membership through the cart and all the data is then passed into amember..email, username,password,name,etc.....

    I know that OsCommerce and x-cart are what people talk about moslty, but can they do this?

    We are currently using 1shoppingcart through an api and we hate it. We want our own cart.

    Are you also selling hard products? If you are mainly selling memberships you should not complicate the process and use a shopping cart in the process. You simply pick the best publishing platform to deliver the info/content to your membership and integrate it with aMember which handles all the ecommerce.

    Hopefully you can use a platform the has a tight integration with aMember such as WordPress, vBulletin, eFront, Drupal, Joomla etc.

    we are looking for a cart because we have many different memberships available and we need to run reports that a good cart backend may have. we do use the link function for some of the memberships, but need more fuctionality for post sale stuff.

    Unfortunately aMember can't be integrated with other shopping cart systems such way (as 1SC) Only database integration is supported with other shopping carts, there is no way to integrate payment process.

    I have developed an aMember integration with open source Magento Shopping Cart which allows you to use Magento as your front end for shopping, selecting and purchasing a mix of physical, digital and subscription based products.

    This allows for a rich shopping cart front end, while still having all of the features that aMember provides. It supports:

    Magento -> aMember product association
    Magento User Creation -> aMember user creation
    Magento User Update (ie. name, address, password) -> aMember user update
    Magento User Deletion -> aMember user deletion
    Magento Purchase (for aMember associated products) -> aMember subscription added for user
    Magento Signon -> aMember single signon

    If you are interested you can contact me {my user name here} @ hotmail.com and I can give you a demo.
