When a new user signs up, and is redirected to the payment page, if they don't complete payment, they are still getting an account created for them (although no subscriptions are added). Is there a way to make it mandatory to complete payment before aMember creates them an account? We get a lot of unpaid members that I would like to prevent.
Having an account created is a good thing- it gives you the opportunity to email them to complete payment. You can have the system clear these records if you want. amember admin / delete old records / incomplete users David
In the options, you can setup an email series to go out to these people. I usually stick with three. 1 day after they registered it sends them a "reminder" email letting them know they didn't complete their registration and walking them through exactly step by step how to do so. 3 days later - same thing 7 days later - same thing, only I let them know their data is going to be removed from our system so they must do it asap. So I never remove pending users until they are over 7 days old..
I have a member who has more than 6, he said by #6, 50% of pending have bought. Thats a lot of lost money saved. I dont think you should ever remove your pendings- worst case, move them onto some sort of free list and treat them like regular email list subscribers. David
email follow up for pending users Can someon help me out on this? I see: "Enable "Not-Completed Payment" Notification send email to user when his subscription is pending and no completed subscriptions created for this customer yet" and I have an email in here but I can't see how to send multiple emails. I'm on 3.18. It looks like about 1/2 of the signups bailout or abandon the cart so I'd love to fix that... Thanks
Update to the new version of amember and you can send them out on a sequence. If you dont want to update- I sell a plugin that does this (premium membership needed to order the plugin) David
thanks David, I actually already bought the upgrade but hadn't yet found a good time to install so I'll do that. Thanks again
