How to handle variable prices (donations)

Hi,

I am using aMember to control access to various features of a WordPress-powered church site. The church is now considering online giving for the site. I would like to use aMember for this since it is already in place and online giving is often recurring.

The Challenge

Giving is usually tied to a person's income;therefore, I need to allow the user to set the amount. I would likely offer a weekly, monthly, and quarterly recurring option along with a one time gift option. Can this be handled with aMember?

We would use Authorize.net.

I am not in a position to move on this, but I do need to report back if we can do this with aMember. If needed, would the code be something you could supply or do I need to request a quote?

I would be interested in this as well. I am sure everyone who runs a site for a nonprofit would have interest. This may be a good plugin to be developed.

Same here. I'm involve with non-profit organization (and may help with another one). I know Ken's Upsell doesn't meet your need, but it's close enough. Maybe Ken can customize Upsell with options (same Upsell or a new separate plug-in).

After A4 comes out, hopefully we can create a discussion group for non-profit organizations. I'm sure there are many options for us to use; many of us are not sure if it will works or justify the cost.

Hmm? That's an interesting challenge. My guess is that Alex and his crew have already done something similar and would have a head start on me for figuring something out.

I'm sure you've already thought of setting up a variety of products with different prices to cover the widest range of people's giving and offering them the choice? It's more manual but completely do-able without customization.

I always like to exhaust other possibilities before making a customization or suggesting a development project for clients where its possible and/or makes sense. Perhaps that doesn't make sense?
