Is anyone else doing the following with these two:
Offering a product, part of the benefit of which is a monthly subscription to a membership area?
The product, in my case, is not digital.
My question is, how can I set it up so that the membership and the product sale are integrated, if that is, in fact possible?
From what I have found out, you can only have an aMember product by itself in 1Shopping Cart at checkout which means that the other, main, product must also be separate.
I can't see a way round this, but if anyone has any insights, I'd be very interested.
    Thanks
    Nigel

PS As an aside, why don't I ever get notifications of answers despite having set up instant email notification whenever I make a post? Hey ho!

You need to bundle it together and use forced continuity
    eg:
Product 1 with 30 days free trial membership, thereafter billed $xx every 30 days.

Can't combine membership and 1SC product

But the problem apparently is, according to 1Shopping Cart, that an aMember product must be the first in the cart and must also be the only product at checkout.
This I found out a short while ago.
It looks as if there is no way that I can bundle membership AND product together using 1SC...which sucks!:(

By bundle, I mean sell them both as a single product- not two individual products.

I'm assuming you're referring to aMember when speaking of a bundle and not 1SC??
But, I'm still not clear how that would work in 1SC...it still won't make any difference in 1SC...it will still have the same problem...or am I being dumb here?

because of integration API limitations you can use only one product in 1SC shopping cart when user redirected from aMember.
So what you needx to do is to create two separate products both in ammeber and 1SC.
    For example:
Membership product in aMember will be linked to membership product in 1SC
Membership + product (with price that include both products price) and the same product in 1SC.

Apologies for the delay in replying, but I still don't get notifications of replies despite having the settings OK....<sigh>

However, I'm grateful for the answer to this. I just need to implement this now and see if I understand it better when I'm actually fiddling with setting it up on both ends, because it still doesn't make much sense to me...

I'm at the tailend of getting the product ready for sale and getting the membership area ready, so one last question (I hope!!)

Does your answer mean that they can only access BOTH products simultaneously from an aMember signup page and not if they use the 1SC links?

If so, can I easily make a signup page just for that which will look good on another website (ie different from the one which aMember is on)?

I may sound slow and dumb here, for which I apologize, but I've put a lot of time and effort into this product and membership area so I would really like the launch to be as error-free as I can make it.

I appreciate the time taken to respond to these questions.

Correct. When you create a product in 1SC and check the "Amember" checkbox that it's an Amember product, it can't be accessed through 1SC. You can test it. The checkout page will be emtpy with no product in a cart.

If by "signup page" you mean your sales copy, then yes. You can can link to your Amember product from any page. But the actual signup process will be through your Amember installation.
You can use the "Signup Link Wizard" to create your product links. Example: xxxxx.com/amember/signup.php?price_group=7&product_id=8
