I have tried for days and can't figure out the wordpress plugin installation. I get this error message: DB - [] - incorrect value. Error: Table 'orgnow_members.users' doesn't exist And this error message: Access denied for user 'orgnow_orgnow'@'localhost' to database 'wordpress' Help. I have limited knowledge in this area and figured aMember would be MUCH easier to set up. I'm stuck on this part. I've looked in wp-config.php and can't find any database name. Thanks Laura
OK, I got it to work. Not exactly sure how But, now I want to create a member page and don't understand how to do this in wordpress? Anyone?
@organizenow: Can you elaborate, what do you mean by "create a member page"... Something like: http://yourdomain.com/amember/member.php ?
@skippybosco What I want to do is to create the content pages to have the same look as my site, which is wordpress based. I'm in the process of transferring my site from html over to wordpress. You can see here: http://www.organizenow.info/about/ So, the above is wordpress, with widgets, etc. Now, I want to create the member content pages so that it preserves the header, widgets, etc. I assume I would do this in wordpress. I have aMember installed at http://www.organizenow.info/members/ and all is fine when logging in, signing up, etc. Got the header/footer all customized with my banner logo, etc. The issue is how to create the content pages. So, that when a member would join, and they would be re-directed to http://www.organizenow.info/members/product1 how can I create that page? When I try to create in wordpress, it just shows me the parent directory and files when I am re-directed, instead of the page I created in wordpress. I have all of my content already created as html pages, but there is no header/footer/widgets/formatting, etc. I want them to look like part of the site. Does this make sense? Thank you for helping. Laura
That protected page does not (and should not) be stored in your amember (members) folder. Take a look at the amprotect plugin for aMember / wordpress.. I think this may be what you are after: http://kencinnus.com/132/amprotect-wordpress-plugin-for-amember/
@skippybosco Okay, I figured it out, sort of. Using the Wordpress plugin (I was doing the old integration way it seems), and seems to be working. Only one problem. When I try to access the protected page, it takes me to an error page telling me I need to log in. I log in, and it takes me back to the same error page. So, it's a non-ending loop asking me to log in. But, the page is up and it's there for me as the admin. I can see it fine. And, when I try to log in directly to wordpress (as the customer), it recognizes that I am logged in, but still shows the error message: "Access to this page is denied. Please login, or signup for the Video Training Program to get access!" Thanks!
I am going to tell you the same thing that SkippyB did. Get the amProtect plug-in. It is a seasoned and mature plug-in that has worked flawlessly for me on two sites. The plug-in you are using while "free", I think is still considered to be beta. I am not sure what you think your time is worth, but for $67 you can stop the time hemorrhage. Good Luck.
Totally agree- amprotect is solid. Ken has really come a long way with it and it has a ton of proven features. I use it for all my turnkey wordpress integrations with amember, and is what i recommend to my members. David
