Any idea what percentage of customers will choose monthly auto-renew
    over one-time yearly memberships?

I've been using one-time yearly memberships since 2003 with aMember, but now considering adding the monthly auto-renew option.

    Thanks,
    Dave

My experience, 10-20% choose yearly over monthly.

    David,

To be clear, you mean 80% of the customers choose a monthly subscription with recurring billing? Interesting.

About what percentage of monthly subscribers go longer than 1 month?

    Thanks,
    Dave

    David,

    You still out there?

Anyone else have any ideas on stats for percentage of monthly subscribers go longer than 1 month?

    Thanks,
    Dave

    Yes.

Whether or not this proves to be a better billing method- really depends on your site, niche, $ amount.

    David,

Great! I'll give it a shot. It's been about 8 years with only yearly memberships. If the monthly decreases overall income, I'll turn it off.

    Thanks,
    Dave

    David,

The test didn't go great. It reminds of when I tried a 1-Day Free Trial a year ago. I'm more a high-end site, so I believe my pricing needs to reflect that.

I won't give up on the monthly option though. I will be doing content upgrades this year; specifically, adding video and additional audio. At that point, I will up the yearly prices and try the monthly option again.

I'm always open to new methods of increasing income, but many times I come back to the old saying... "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

    Thanks for all your input,
    Dave

Are you doing an upsell/cross-sell after the initial purchase? this can really change the bottom line.
