I installed the Amember Remote plugin and am still having a few issues trying to get it to work correctly.

Here is what is going on:
My Amember is installed at www.myamembersite.com/amember
My Remote is installed at www.myremotesite.com/amember_remote

The folder I am protecting is on myremotesite.com/videos

Here is the issue....if I login from the myamembersite.com/amember/login.php, it logs me in and tells me what product I have and directs me to the home page of myremotesite.com which is good.

The problem is, I am not truly logged into myremotesite.com because I cannot access the protected content. When I try to access protected content, I get another login screen, this time it says:

    www.myremotesite.com/amember_remote/index.php

When I login via this link it works and I can see protected content BUT, after logging in, it takes me right to the protected directory which is just video files. I want it to take me to myremotesite.com after logging in, not myremotesite.com/videos.

When logging in via the index.php file on the remote site, it defaults to taking me to the protected folder instead of the home page.

How can I have it take me to the root directory after logging in?

From my understanding what you describe is expected behavior.

The remote plugin mirrors user/id/product state, but cross domain authentication is not typically supported as it is a major security risk.

What do you have the product URL set to? This should be set to the directory/file you wish your member to be directed to.

Thanks for the reply! My product URL is set to a main menu page on my remote site however, there is no login.php so the only way I know to login on the remote site is to try and visit a protected page or file but then it takes me to that particular page or file once I login and not the main menu page.

Is there a login file somewhere and I just don't see it? I just don't see how to create a login link for the remote site since there is no login.php

ok, I have tested this for a few days and can't get it to work. When using Amember Remote, what is the login link for the remote site?

If I try and login from here:
    www.myremotesite.com/amember_remote/index.php
it doesn't work, and tells me that access to this area is not allowed.

The ONLY way I know how to log into an area protected by Amember Remote is to try and access a protected page, which will give me a login page that looks like this:

    www.myremotesite.com/amember_remote/index.php?v=-5&url=/members/&referer=

Now, I don't mind the link but how can I configure that exact login page with my header etc?

On my regular Amember home site, there is a login.php that can be configured for things on my home site but there is no login.php on the Remote site at all.

You need to specify url of your member's area as login page url (/members/)
Then user will be redirected to the login page.
