We run a subscription site with four different durations: monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual. We offer a 7-day free trial. I have two questions about how to handle two separate problems: - I find some users who order the free trial and cancel, over and over again. How can I prevent this? The Trial Group seems to be the answer, but the available documentation is not very clear. - We would like to offer coupons on the month, quarterly, semi-annual and annual subscriptions. But it seems as if this is not possible when you sell a recurring product with a free trial. Is that right? Thanks very much.
Ban their IP. Depending on the payment system, you can link that to the account and only allow them to order the product 1x. You'll need to create a product for each recurring period. Then you can offer a coupon for that specific product. David
Banning them is, of course, always an option. But it also requires manual intervention. It would also require me to watch every single sale, looking for patterns. I want them to still be able to order the product but without a free trial. How can I accomplish this As for the coupons, I'm not sure I follow you. We already have four separate products (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual). Each of these products has a 7-day free trial. Are you saying create a coupon for each? In my experience, coupons have not worked in Amember for any recurring product with a free trial. (Even with the latest version of Amember)
You'll need to create a new product without a trial. Or create a trial price for the same amount as your reccurring and put a hidden coupon in the signup. You wouldnt be offering a free trial- See above coupon method. David
