Anyone know if theres any way of using an SMS Micropayment plugin/service for aMember??? Ie, they "text" a number which costs them say $2, (via a 3rd party provider), for say a 1 day membership to my site, then.....this plugin adds the membership etc etc Anyone got any ideas? Cheers!
Kambi: SMS Payment Solution by Mobile Phone Maybe you should check out Sms-Kambi. (www.smskambi.com) They offer a complete sms payment solution that can be integrated to your site using a plugin that can interact with your current members database. The solution is very versatile and easy to use, hope it helps you!
Look like a great service. 2 Notes: 1. It is not integrated with aMember yet (am I wrong?) 2. It works not world-wide, most important it doesn't work for USA and Canada.
Members integration and countries coverage Actually, the service is very versatile and currently does support a way of interacting with your own members *list*. As for the list of countries supported, it changes overtime and I have even heard of a possibility of supporting US and or Canada upon approbation of the service... Maybe you should write them an email if you are looking for more informations: Sales enquiries: sales@smskambi.com
Have we created a plugin for this service yet? It look very promising and supports 22 countries (including US and Canada). They say it is easy to integrate with our existing site, so I would imagine that creating a plugin to automate it is fairly easy? Alex, what do you think?
I thought for other solution for my local SMS payment gateway. You generate coupons for specific product with 100% discount. When user sends an SMS, he gets a coupon hash code. Then he buys the product with 100% discount and you get money from SMS gateway. I think this solution also possible.
That isn't a bad idea. Only thing I can see going wrong is the coupon being shared (without sending the SMS) and getting a free account activated. What SMS solution are you currently using to send/charge via SMS?
You can make, that coupon coul be used only once. I use local SMS gateway. I am using this solution for more than half year and everything is going fine.
