Here's a powerful technique to increase total customer value that many of the most successful marketers use (Dan Kennedy, Armand Morin, Nitro Marketing, Russ Brunson, etc) use which I would love to have implemented for amember. What you do is to offer the customer additional products *after* they have entered all their payment info and agreed to buy an initial front end product. This is much more powerful than doing an upsell before they enter their info because doing upsells ahead of the actual payment dramatically increases shopping cart abandonment. So what they do is have a simple page after the sale (where the thank you page would normally be) which explains a single upsell. They can either accept or reject the upsell, which then takes them to one or two more upsells before they are finally taken to the thank you page. This is something that amember may be able to add using authorizenet CIM. If you're an amember user who would like this added to amember, post here and maybe they'll add it if enough people request it.
I would use a system like this. It would need to have (or allow me to extend to have) the ability to validate that they do not already have the product I'm pushing which would imply there is a rules engine of some kind?
Another option would be for aMember to work with Ultracart, as that particular shopping cart service already has a very nice upsell after the sale feature built in. Seems like this should be feasible since aMember will auto-populate 1Shopping Cart just fine. I've contacted support to see if they can do it.
You can add to thanks.html but you have to have a way to checkout and order other products. Is that available?
how would you implement this? it appears that they can only select products on the signup or member page
I'm extremely interested in this. I use Authorize.net, AIM Integration. It has to be completely automated. In the simplest version: 1. Each product has an upsell page. 2. Each upsell page has a "Yes" and a "No" button. 3a. If they click "Yes", their credit card is automatically charged and the product/payment added to their membership. 3b. If they click "No", they go to the members area. I have come up with a few of the challenges, and some possible solutions, as well as some additional features that would be even more powerful. If anyone knows a aMember expert programmer who might want to take on the job, please let me know.
Has anyone tried this script with amember and 1shopping cart? and does it work for upsells? http://www.optimizeyourcart.com/#order
Hello Guys, Any update on this? I want to implement some Upsells/Downsells to my AMember suscriptions. Thanks.
Ken gary has plugins called amoneclick and amOffers which will allow you to do this with authorize.net etc.. David
Most definitly: amUpsell: Create Related Product Upsells in aMember. Ken even has a video that shows how well it works.
