Dear All, We will be offering our product as a 12 month subscription ($200) with no recurring offer at the end of the subscription. However we would like to give those customers who complete the 12 month subscription the opportunity to re-new their subscription for a discount price (possibly $50). We're still thinking about whether to use a coupon or set another product which one those customers whose subscription has ended can see. I have a few questions please. 1. In the event that we use a coupon would it make sense to create an expiration e-mail ready with the coupon code in it, so that when the user's subscription ends they would receive an e-mail, informing that they can re-subscribe at a discount price? I just wanted your opinion on the above idea please? 2. In the event that we create another product which only those users whose subscription has expired can see, what way could I use to inform the user about this cheaper product? Would it make sense to create this cheaper product also before we launch the main product, and include details of this in the expiration e-mail, so that users can click through to the cheaper product? Also, from what page do users sign up for the cheaper product? 3. Is it possible to send out e-mails to just specific groups of customers (e.g those whose subscription has expired)? I would be grateful for help/information on the above. With our launch coming up soon, I've got lots of concerns on how initial payment, and re-subscribing will be done. Best wishes, ch
Both explained ways will work. You can use expiration emails to send link to chaper product or coupon code. In both situations user will need to use /amember/member.php page in order to renew membership. Also in regards to 3, you can send email to all expired users at aMember CP -> Email Users
Hi Alex, Thanks for your reply. For a test I did was the following: 1. Created a main product which costs $3.00 for 3 days subscription with no recurring fee. 2. I also created another cheaper product (for those people who would complete the 3 day subscription), and set it a price of $1.00 for 3 days. 3. I also created an expiration e-mail to be sent one day before membership runs out, informing existing customers that they could renew for a cheaper price ($1.00). I was able to purchase the main product through paypal. However, when I went to member.php and to Add/Renew Subscription I can also see the cheaper product in the Membership Type drop down list. I don't want this cheaper product to appear in the list until the main product is about to be expired for the user. Can you explain how I could do this please? In Amember admin, for the cheaper product, I set the scope for the cheaper product to 'only Members having completed subscriptions (hide from signup page)'. However, I can still see the product in member.php even though I haven't completed my subscription? I would be grateful for your help. Best wishes, ch
Hi Alex, I sent a request through help desk... I have the following setup in Amember: 1. First product. 2. Second product (same as above but cheaper), which only existing customers should be able to see in member.php on the last day of their subscription to First product. I asked help desk if they could set this up for me in Amember admin (when I do it, the user can still see the Second product in member.php, even after only purchasing the First product), but I got a response saying it will cost me $40 to do such customisation. Can you please confirm if I have to pay for this? I thought it would just be a minor tweaking of some of the fields in Amember admin for the Second product. Does anyone else know how to do this? Best wishes, ch
Dear All, Can I please bump this up? I have the following created in Amember: 1. First Product. 2. Second product (same as above but cheaper), which only existing customers should be able to see in member.php on the last day of their subscription to First product. Can anyone let me know what setting I need to have for the Second Product so that existing customers can only see the Second Product in member.php on the last day of their subscription to the First Product? At the moment customers can still see the Second Product all the time (not just on the last day of subscription to the First Product). I would be grateful for any help. Best wishes, ch
Sure we can do such customization for free. Contact me at alexander@cgi-central.net and provide ticket number where you asked about this.
I am looking to do the opposite. We are migrating a membership from another site to this one. We would like to offer a coupon code for the members of the old site to come and set up an account at this new one. We want to give these returning members 1-3 mos. free membership before their paying subscriptions start. How can I make a coupon code to do this? Thank you. Claudia Beck
Make the trial period 3 months at $XX. Then create a coupon to make this trial period (1st payment) free. David
