I have a few installations of amember and I keep noticing this strange behavior.

Sometimes when I log out and then go back to the login screen, the login screen loads with this error message:

Asking me to upgrade my membership, with a link. When I click the link, it takes me to my member area... but I was logged out so how does it know who I am?? Also, the user IS authorised - they are subscribed to the only product that my website sells.

    Steps to recreate this behavior:

    1. Log out
    2. Manually type in the login screen url into browser
    3. Login screen shows with the above message (no attempt to log in was made at this point, btw)
    4. Click on link and *poof* I'm in my member area, somehow logged in

    My question is:

What causes this behavior? I don't want this link to show up - I want the user to be either fully logged out or fully logged in!

I'm guessing that maybe it is something to do with a session or a cookie that is not getting fully destroyed upon logout?

    Thanks in advance!

Just to ensure you do not have any cross session contamination, I would suggest clearing your cookies and refreshing your browser and following a normal user behavior (ie. logging in and logging out with a single userid) and seeing if you can reproduce the issue
