    Hello,

Not sure if it matters or not, but I recently disabled the Linkpoint payment gateway plugin and enabled PayPal for payment processing. I thought all went well, until...

I have a registered and paid user who is now unable to access the protected area of our site. When they try to login, the get the following error:

Access to this membership area is not allowed. Please go to "Membership information page" to renew or add subscription.

When she clicks the link to the "Membership information page", she is taken to:
http://www.domain.com/member/member.php - where she is ABLE to view her invoice(s) for her membership. If she can see THAT, she IS LOGGED IN (right?), and should be able to access the protected areas of the site.

The ONLY THING I can think of is that something happened when I disabled the Linkpoint payment gateway. She DID pay using that payment method. But since she joined, I have removed that payment option. Would that cause a problem?

Any ideas why she can no longer access protected areas? I even tried setting up a 2nd membership for her (FREE) and although both memberships are now active, still no access.

    All suggestions are greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!
    Becky

By the way - this sticky is apparently out of date...the link to the support desk is no longer valid.

Are you sure the product she has in her account is allowed into that directory?
Check your protect folders settings and make sure.

    Resolved - thanks!

    Hmmm...

Not sure how that got changed, as it was working previously. However, you are correct. Somehow, two of the membership products had their access removed. Again, not sure how, because I never changed any of that and it was working before. Once I re-added the proper protections to the folder, it works fine.

    Thanks!!!

    Thanks for the solution David,

I just had a similar problem where users were told their "Access to this membership area is not allowed.."

.. It seemed that when I recently created new products I had't thought about checking the 'Protect Folders' section. I then went and ticked 'Just any active subscription is enough' and everything works great once again :)

    Hello,

I am a new user who has downloaded and successfully installed the trial version. I am having the same issue. I have checked the protected folders and also ticked 'Just any active subscription is enough' but still not working.

Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Is your test user active? may be he is pending or expired?
