Hello, I'm looking into an affiliate program to integrate into my site and I was wondering how aMember integrates with it. I'm going to offer a free version of the membership and have upgrade options within the site.

Does aMember keep track of the affiliate ID when the user signs up so that it can be passed to the payment processor and then in turn back to the affiliate script?

I just don't want people to sign up as a free member and then have the affiliate lose out on the commission when they decide to upgrade.

    Thanks,
    Randy

Randy, aMember keeps track of affiliate id only when you are using aMember's built-in affiliate program.
When you are using third-party affiliate program, it must store affiliate id in cookie and check it when payment finished.

When a new user signs up via an affiliate link, amember records the affiliate id. This way, when they upgrade to a paid membership, or purchase other products the original affiliate continues to get the commission.
