I am running into a problem with some affiliates referring themselves - using a different email address for this new account. Has anyone found a way to stop this? I would like to avoid requiring a certain dollar amount earned before payment. If I did, though, how could I quickly set a filter for payout at a certain dollar amount? Custom programming, right? I pay over 500 affiliates each month. (BTW - I still can't select more than 170 affiliates at a time to pay on the "pay commissions" screen. It just returns empty results. Is this a server timeout setting?) Maybe checking to see if the same credit card is being used for the referred member? Same address? Same PayPal account that I would pay to?
If they use totally different credentials then there is not much the software can do, think of it this way would you be able to work it out definitely yourself from the purchase transaction alone? The only 'easy way would be to match on ip address of the user and purchaser but then what happens when it is a case (like me) that I buy the license for a client using my affiliate id? That's not a misuse My only suggestion would be for a new affiliate to check the first couple, just be sure that in your terms you state that they can not be for personal use or you could find yourself in hot water.
