I've activated the affiliate module under plugins>enable module
and configured it in the affiliates tab
I created an affiliate signup form in form editor
I created banners & text links
I set an existing test user as an affiliate

    Here's where the questions start:

    1) If someone tries to register as an affiliate on the sign up form it puts them as pending in the user list. If I try to edit this user I get an error message. the user remains pending. Is this because the user isn't registered as a member first? Do affiliates need to register as regular members first then go to the affiliate form?

    2) When someone clicks the link I created in the banners & links area it takes them to the home page even though the link is for the sales page. Here's a link from a test affiliate:

    <a href="http://creativepassionclasses.com/amember/aff/go?r=1&i=22">Scrapbooking Events with Debbie Hodge (Self-Paced)</a>

It should take you directly to this page: http://creativepassionclasses.com/scrapbooking-events-debbie-hodge/

    3) When this was tested on another computer the affiliate got a "lead" but not commission even though the user purchased the product.

    4) When I'm in a user profile through the cp it tells me one user has 4 clicks, if I click for details it gives me "An internal error happened in the script, please contact webmaster for details"

    5) Is this correct, if a user clicks a link from an affiliate ALL sales forever will generate commissions for that affiliate? Ex. UserA clicks Affiliate link, buys a class. A year later buys another class from a link in an email or just from visiting the site. Does Affiliate get commission from that sale a year later too?

    Thanks for any help

    1) It is correct - it is added as "user" and it is pending because it has no payments.
What exactly error did you get? I tried and it worked for me.

    2) It is fixed, it was a bug.

3,4) Could you pm me affiliate name?

    5) Yes.

    1) it was just stuck pending if I tried to edit it just wouldn't let me in there it gave me an error but I forgot to copy it. Now you have alex1 in there and it does let me go in to edit you

    2) thanks!

3-4) the affiliate is Michigirl74 and "she" (me) referred a user who has made a purchase but only "leads" are showing up.

    5) is there a way to reset this after a certain amount of time?

Nevermind Alex. I'm sorry to say the way your affiliate module works (which is great for those who use it) just doesn't fit the parameters of our established program. But thanks so much for trying to help on this.

Our affiliate program was already established prior to me setting up my site. Our affiliates get commission from products purchased off their links within 90 days of the original 'click'. After 90 days the cookie on the users computer expires. With Amember the affiliate is the user's affiliate for the user's lifetime sales. We just want it to be for the 90days.

I did try to integrate Post Affiliate Pro but it's not integrating well. It's tracking clicks but not commissions. So I'm still kind of at a loss on the Affiliate end which is losing me sales. :( If anyone reading this has tips on how to integrate Post Affiliate Pro I'd appreciate it.

    Tami,
what if we implement an option in aMember that commissions will be calculated only within xx (90 in your case) days after signup? Will it help? I'll try to deliver it with next upgrade too.

Wow that'd be amazing. I'll email you a few questions on how it would work if you don't mind.
