We are pretty new to this, I looked in the forums but could not find the answer so it is probably a set up issue. We entered payments manually for current members that have been transferred from another system. On December 27th a member renewed through Paypal. In their profile it shows two products, one that is expired (the manually entered one that is now expired) and one that is valid and paid until December next year. Because of this they are showing on the Expired members list, which is incorrect. How can I make sure that when someone renews, amember updates the expiry date on the current membership. Thanks for any help. Liz
Sounds like they system is correct to me- you had a previous subscription that expired and a new one that is active- they are the same products arent they, just added a new payment period? David
Hi David - thank you for the reply and help. They are not the same product, the member is showing two products in their User Payments/Subscriptions area. It seems that the Paypal payment did not update the current product that was entered manually - not sure what would cause that, I am sure that the member logged in and just made the payment, do I need to set something that they can only have one product of a certain type? If that makes sense. Liz
It wont- what it will do is add another payment with a new time period. If its the same product, then it will add more time (via a new payment record) to the existing product. I think you may be misunderstanding how the payments are recorded and access given. Heres an example: Premium Membership - Monthly 12/29/2010 - RECURRING PayPal S-xxx $xx.95 YES Active Premium Membership - Monthly 11/29/2010 - 12/28/2010 PayPal S-xxx $xx.95 YES Expired So the member signed up on 11/29 and a recurring charge was done on 12/29 This is the same product- with 2 payments. The old payment was not extended- a new payment record was added. David
