I want to have a Users only section of my Mambo website. My members register through aMember, and I have the plug-in installed that transfers their registrations directly to the Mambo database. To access the User Menu in Mambo the person has to be listed as Registered. If they are so registered the system works properly and the menu item is restricted until they log in, either through the Mambo login or through the aMember login.

The problem is that aMember is inconsistent in how it transfers and categorizes the users. Half are listed as Registered, and can therefore get at the restricted content. The other half are listed as Public Frontend, which is too low a category and denies them the restricted content even though they have paid their membership dues and it is so recorded in aMember.

I can find no difference in the records themselves to justify the difference. I have checked only users who are listed as currently paid up. Some in both categories have had their payments manually entered after they mailed in checks. Most PayPal signers get the full Registered designation, but the Manual entries are on both sides of the divide.

And if someone also knows this one: I would manually edit the user records from within Mambo to change the user from Public Frontend to Registered, but the edit function is disabled and it will not save any changes. At the same time I can find nowhere within aMember to define what category an old or new signup is to be placed in. Is there a PHP file for the aMember-Mambo plug-in where this can be set or fixed?

Would really like to get this going.

More on Mambo - aMember registration problem

I should add on the above post: I have all my paid memberships (products) set to Registered in the Mambo category. I saw one post here about Joomla that said that of the three available choices, Public, Registered, and Special, that aMember should be set to Special, but then the names don't show up from within Mambo. Can anyone comment?

    Amember and Mambo Member Trouble

I figured I would post to this thread since it is related. I am new to amember and could not find where to post a thread. I am having trouble with the amember and mambo integration. I purchased the mambo plugin and it was installed and the mambo DB and prefix is kmateen_mamb1.mos_. When trying to add users to the database it should enter them into the DB as kmateen_mamb1.mos_users except MYSQL searches for kmateen_mamb1.users without the mos_ prefix. Is there anyone that can tell me how to fix this?
