I have just purchased vBulletin Suite 4.02 and installed it. I have not done anything else yet. Here is what I am trying to accomplish and would like to know if amember can handle this and what benefits amember will add rather then trying to manage this just with vBulletin. Last if it can do what I propose would that be part of the install done or is it simply installed and I have to do all of the configurations. I will have a site that will offer a trial subscription that will be reduced from the normal monthly subscription and possible a shorter time frame. Such as pay $1 for the first month to try it out (or potentially for 2 weeks) and then pay $49 a month. Would also like possible yearly memberships as well. As part of the membership they would receive access to custom pages along with private forums. Registered but not paying members would be allowed access to certain forums but not the private ones. Thanks
Sure you can use amember + vBulletin plugin to handle this. aMember supports recurring subscriptions with Trials and it can be used to assign user's to vBulletin groups and protect content outside of vBulletin. Have a look how vBulletin plugin works: http://www.amember.com/p/Integration/
In your products, you'd make sure that you have previously created a usergroup and granted that usergroup permission to view whatever paid section you wanted. Then have amember add that person to the usergroup you want depending on the product they buy. It'll work very nicely.
Hi, I've just purchased vbulletin 4.0. I've been looking all over for the elusive amember:vbulletin integration plugin with no success. Where can I find it please? thanks Naomi
