Another protection problem

Discussion in 'Setting-up protection' started by webdesignweaver, Dec 4, 2004.

  1. I installed aMember trial on a testing site and had success with all aspects. I have purchased the Pro version and cannot get the protection set up.

The client (unfortunately) purchased the hosting on Go Daddy prior to hiring us and they dont support cURL, so I am trying to use htpassword, to no avail.

This is a reoccuring subscription, and I need to protect one php page. It protects the directory (http://www.mysite.com/amember/secureMember/), but not the file inside. A use can simply type the url and has access.

    Please advise.

In fact, file is protected. Once you logged-in (to see folder) your username/password is remembered by browser and will be automatically sent with each request for a file within this folder until you close ALL browser windows.

We discussed this in helpdesk. The solution is to setup direct URL to a file in PRODUCT settings : Product URL field must point to a file, not to a folder. Then paid members will automatically get the file.
Please answer in the helpdesk, not here.
