I have been using aMember for quite a while. I was trying to hold out for Alex to implement an affiliate program, but I decided to purchase iDevAffiliate to use in the mean time. Bottom line, I can't get it to recognize a sale. The affiliate program "sees" the visits of a person coming to the site via the affiliate link, but it will not pick up the sale amount. I have tried the example in the aMember FAQs, no go. I am using the image tag approach and have added this line of code to my thanks.htm page as per the affiliate program's instructions, no go. Alex has been unable to get a response from iDevAffiliate. The guy at iDevAffiliate says he is working on it. i am just trying to find the answer anywhere I can find it! So...Has anybody successfully installed iDevAffiliate and made it work with aMember? If you have, could you share how you did it! Thanks in advance for any help on this! Grant
I believe the way described in the aMember FAQ should be correct. If IDevAffiliate author has any comments, he is welcome to post it here or to support@cgi-central.net.
Ian, No... I gave up. I followed iDevAffiliate's installation instructions and it would not pick up the sale. The program "sees" the visitor hit the site from an affiliate link, but it will not pick up the sale. I tried many variations of iDevAffiliate's instructions and followed the example posted in aMember's FAQ. Nothing so far has worked. I filed a ticket to iDevAffiliate's support about the issue. The author of the software responded. He said he was working on this problem with another aMember user and would get back to me with the "fix". That has been over 2 weeks ago. I must have spent 6+ hours screwing around with it and finally had to move onto some other projects. If iDevAffiliate's author does not contact me with a solution, I will be out $100 and 6-8 hours install time. My gut feeling is this is what is going to happen. That is why I made the appeal in this forum. I would like to hear from somebody that has actually made these two pieces of software work together so I can do what they did! I am really looking forward to aMember's affiliate program. I think it is in the works, but who knows when it will roll out? It would be great to have 1 control panel to manage your affiliates and memberships! Bottom line, I wish I had not purchased the software and am content to wait for Alex to make it available for aMember at this point.
Jim from IDevDirect contacted me and suggested another way for integration. Please have a look to updated instructions: https://www.cgi-central.net/support/faq.php?do=article&articleid=29
Well I have reached with alex help the integration for the offline payment. Now i also choose the above described solution for integrate the sale tracking for moneybookers. I dont know where is my mistake but here it dont work for me. I entered into the thanks.php $t->display("thanks.html"); $idevamount = $pm['amount']; $idevtracking = $pm['receipt_id']; include ("/home/www/web0/html/affiliate/sale.php"); also used / tried $t->display("thanks.html"); $idevamount = $payment['amount']; $idevtracking = $payment['receipt_id']; include ("/home/www/web0/html/affiliate/sale.php"); but no sale is counted by iDevaffiliate I have configured the both variables idevamount and idevtracking in iDevaff.
idevaffiliate problem Hi Grant, I have tried the process for idevaffiliate for hours with no success. Could you share exactly what you did that worked? I have tried everything so far. In desperation Ed Brooks
Ed, you can just contact CGI-Central.Net with aMember and iDevAffiliate script admin login info, and with FTP info.
