Hi...I'm in Washington, DC. I'm involve with a local all-volunteer non-profit group -- I'm the aMember administrator for my group.

Anyway, I was wondering, if anyone here in DC is using aMember as an administrator and we would meet, you show me all the inside tips and how I can really "finish" up my long need (small) project with our aMember software. for example, I will need help with some customized script, reports, and to name a few.

I may seek volunteer from our group, but it's high unlikely I'll find anyone with PHP background.

    Thanks.
    David

We are a non profit based in Miami. Installing aMember and its plug-ins are fairly straightforward. This forum has plenty of tips for integrating the "look" of aMember with your site.

We have a few customized scripts that integrate with aMember. You can create them with PHP, Perl, or anything else. I would suggest PHP for simple web page related items, or Perl for more involved scripts. I believe aMember has dropped the use of smarty templates so v.3x is probably even easier to customize. aMember can also create custom DB fields for you, and hide or show them to your users. You can use these to populate the aMember DB with the info you need from your users to create the reports, or whatever else, you require.

Hopefully you have someone with with the skills required. If not, you may try one of the sites dedicated to finding/contracting a programmer for your particular project. We have used Rent-A-Coder, and were very satisfied. Maybe you can lobby aMember to start a Forum section, or something similar, dedicated to finding someone to make such a customization.

You can check out our site www.121books.org to get a feel for how we are using aMember. Also hunt around the forum here for other sites, there are some nice ones listed with really seamless integration. If we can help any further just post a reply here or PM me, if its private.

    Good Luck.
