I see that Authorize.NET now supports the ability to debit right from checking accounts using the routing/account number combination.

Are there plans to provide this integration into the Authorize.NET plugin?

Unfortunately, we have no plans for it yet. In fact, it is the same as online cheques, and can result to lot of fraud.

Yes, authorize.net SIM would allow you to process eCheck if you sign up with Authorize.net eCheck. I have been using it for about 6 months. Authorize eCheck charges minimum $10/month plus process fees.

It's much more riskier. You'll need to verify the fund is credited to you before allowing access to your product or ship the product. Even though Authorize.net echeck send a success settlement back to aMember, there still 5-7 days period where the echeck may be returned/bounce. aMember automatically activates membership access upon receiving success settlement. A success settlement/approve charge in eCheck doesn't guarantee that you get funded, unlike processing using credit card.

I learned the hard way. I lost about $1200 on returned echecks last month. I am more cautious now to verify the fund before shipping out product.
