    Hi,

I am trying to figure out the best way to setup a seperate autoresponder series for pending users beyond pending_mail.txt.

If it helps to explain exactly what I am going for, here's a quick summary:

I have a 2-step signup form that captures the name/email/login on page 1, then goes to page 2 to get the CC info. When they complete step one, but don't complete step two, they currently just get one email from the pending_mail.txt file.

I want the prospect to receive a series of email reminders(seperate from the new user followup series) until they provide a valid CC to begin their trial - ideally that only continues the emails while they are pending with paid status="no". That is -- if they complete the registration then they should stop receiving the emails trying to get them to finish step 2.

If someone could provide me suggestions on how to implement this I would be very grateful.

    Ryan

    Ryan,

    Hi Alex,

    Thanks for your response.

This is a feature that is preventing us from making a good amount of money by following up on these incomplete signups... and seems like a fairly easy and logical fix to me.

Is there a way to push the development of this feature, or even pay to have someone develop it?

There is already an ability to send ONE email message regarding incomplete signup.
    Have a look to :
aMember CP ->Setup->EMail->Enable "Not-Completed Payment" Notification

Right, but this isn't enough for what I am looking for. A seperate auto-responder series really seems justified for the users who have started -- but not completed -- the signup process. These are very targetted prospects; equivalent to your shopping cart dropouts for a product-based site...

It seems a huge waste as I'm getting about 20 of these a day currently... and sending them 1 email just isn't bringing them around... it seems like pretty basic marketing to me ... these are people who have expressed a very strong interest in buying..

so, is there any way to have an add-in like this developed?

    Alex,

I'm struggling with the exact same thing..

Actually not even the "pending_mail.txt" was mailed.

    Case:

    - a user subscription signup via PayPal
    - user gets mail per setup "Verfiy E-Mail Address On Signup" to yes
    - user is created,
    - but then paypal signup abandoned...

    any idea?

    hmmm

    I setup

    - Enable "Not-Completed Payment" Notification to yes
    - "Not-Completed Payment" Notification to 1

this "1" seems to be the problem... I expected that mail to early imho

guess I would have had to wait a day for that?
or how do you speed up the testing process here?

also how can I get THESE pending users on an autoresponder list?

Sure, "Not Completed E-Mail" will be sent after a day in your setup. If you want to send immediate e-mail, use "Pending E-Mail".

There is no ability to get them to an autoresponder list.

Alex, but if the once confirmed their email, it should be legal according to can-spam to mail them more...

Why don't you have them sign into an aweber form before they get to the username signup. That would possibly make sense.
