Hi I'm trying to upgrade my amember .. I'm following the steps here:

    https://www.amember.com/amember/upgrade_info.html

First step says to "Backup your aMember Pro folder (via FTP), and database (using aMember CP -> Backup). This step is IMPORTANT, you may skip the following steps :) !"

I did the database backup in my aMember CP .. but the "Backup your aMember Pro folder (via FTP)" does this mean copy amember from my site to my computer? If so some files won't let me copy them and it stops my whole ftp and then i have to start all over.

    Am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks for any help

    Hi alska,

We have performed many aMember Pro upgrades for our clients, and haven't met an issue like yours.

What version are you upgrading from? Might there be some "broken" files in your aMember folder that might be blocking your FTP?

I guess your hosting does not allow you to copy files within amember/data/ folder because these files belongs to another system user on server. It is safe to do not copy amember/data folder at all. Most important are files within amember/ and amember/templates/ folder - so you do not lose your templates customization.
