I am trying to figure out the best way to use aMember and process recurring payments without having to store credit card numbers and deal with compliance, SSL, etc. I have a subscription newsletter and currently use Paypal. I want to also offer credit card payment (recurring), but don't want to store sensitive data. I signed up with Authorize.net already, but it seems like there is no way to use them for recurring without storing the credit card info in aMember or paying for custom web development at $500+. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Your gonna need to use a 3rd party system like 1shopping cart, clickbank, worldpay or paypal if you dont want to store the data yourself. David
auth.net has a recurring feature where they store the c.c. numbers, but I am not familiar with the details of how it works. This might be the auth.net CIM stuff that is in beta???? I also would like more information about this issue.
Same situation here. My site crashes everytime I activate Authorize.CIM so BACK UP YOUR DATABASE before activating this feature.
David, Is it still the case that the only PCI compliant solutions for recurring billing are the 3rd party systems you mentioned above? Do you know if the PayPal Pro plug-in is now handling recurring billing? Greg
Authorize.net Automated Recurring Billings (ARB) So does this service not work with aMember? It seems the only smart way to do it, and not store the CC info on the aMember system. I am trying to get it setup and feel like I just keep hitting road blocks PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!
You want to check out the authorize.net CIM plugin. This will do what you are seeking (but does require you to add CIM package to your auth.net account - I think it is $20/month )
Yep, definitely go with CIM... Authorize.net just added CIM admin section in your Authorize.net account which allows you to browse and edit all profiles created by aMember and all the recurring billing details as well. And no credit cards get stored on your site, everything is passed onto Authorize.net in the background... I just finished setting that up for 2 different clients, and boy, for a plugin that is apparently still in beta it sure as heck is performing sweet! It does take a few steps to iron out all the configuration settings and disable/change some of the Authorize.net's default settings to get it running properly, but nothing too bad there. And yes, it's an extra $20/month.
oh my gosh miso - I was not aware that auth.net added the CIM admin. I had to login and verify and can't believe it but its true. That was always the biggest problem I saw with the CIM package and was looking at external solutions that allowed for that type of functionality (and almost purchased a package for $500 that does it). I am so happy they finally added it. Now there really is no reason not to use the CIM solution. Thanks for making my day!
authorize.net cim rebill error I'm using Authorize CIM and I am just on win my first round of recurring billing, and my re-bills are failing reportedly for Transaction Status: Declined (Authorization with the card issuer was successful but the transaction was declined due to an address or ZIP code mismatch with the address on file with the card issuing bank based on the settings in the Merchant Interface.)When I look in the Authorize.net records all of the customer information is intact and correct. When I look in the Amember admin there is a username, password, email, and real name but no billing information. Could this be my problem? If it is why wouldn't that data be there. Also I can see the Zip in the XML response Amember status is "Internal Error: E00027" Anybody seen this? Just a fluke? Anyone have a successful CIM rebill? Maybe I'm missing settings?
What problems does CIM have with recurring? We set up CIM for our site and it worked great for the first charge. We haven't had our first 'recurring' charge yet. ***Are there problems I should look out for??? By the way, we turned off the address mismatch setting in Authorize.net so that the address doesn't hold up the payment from going through. I'm expecting CIM to just rebill everyone when aMember says they should. Let me know if there are specific things to look out for...
I have setup the CIM on Authorize.net side and put the plugin in aMember, but every transaction comes back with PAYMENT FAILED. Can anyone help? Authorize.net account does not show any activity so nothing was passed on to them...
I have been using the CIM plug-in for a couple months now. The recurring payments seem to be working well.
