Ikobo may be a no go I have been waiting in the wings to see what Ikobo would show itself to be. I was waiting for another forum member (adrian) who also had trouble with Ikobo. I wanted to see if he could get his problem soved. I had talked to Ikobo about what adrian described (see thread somewhere on this link: http://www.cgi-central.net/forum/showthread.php?t=2239&page=2 ) I never saw a thread from adrian about the problem being solved or not. Maybe I missed the thread or maybe it got solved or maybe not. In any case, I am not waiting for Ikobo any more. That whole deal with giving them all that personal info is a big time "noway". I'll stick with PayPal. PayPal answers their phone, talks as long as needed to satisfy the call, answers their emails, is totally professional, doesn't need to spam sites to keep up a facade, has their developer networks, and more. I don't know and can't say what Ikobo is up to, but when someone wants extreme control over you (all your details so they know more about you than your mother) in the name of protecting you, watch out! You may want to change a few of those data sets you gave them. New DL, a P.O. for CC billing and utilities, you may be able to change your SS# and simply transfer all records to that new # (not sure about this one, but I think I've heard it being done), and of course, update the passport. It sounds like they could be trying to build false I.D. for sell to someone trying to get in or out of an area. Of course, I am only speculating, but with the stuff that is going on in the world now, anything is possible and more likely than ever. You may want to also document some kind of report with some agency who may have interest in this type of activity and notorize those documents so you can prove what happened if you find yourself blamed for something you had no hand in. I don't mean to sound overly alarmist, but I think I am looking at this correctly based on your description. There is nothing wrong with being careful.
Ok, now is very interesting... for a spy movie. Come one, you can't be serious about this. I've been using ikobo for quite a while now and nobody stole my identity or something like that. A couple of days ago they announced that this verification procedure is no longer required for customers. Guess they gathered enough identity information to take over the world. Seriously now, I use them for a while, I know of some more people who do and nobody complained about problems with their identity and them being accused of something they never did.
Ikobo Don't tell me no complaints... I have referred Ikobo in the past to friends and family by mistake. I heard some complaints and also from my own sister. You sound like you work for IKOBO. How about reading some complaints in the internet, huh? Do your research!
First of all nobody said there aren't any complaints regarding ikobo. I know there are, I have a few myself, but only small things. I've read some of them and in many cases it was the user's fault eventually, although some are genuine problems. I'm just saying that I use it and don't consider them to be all that bad. That's it! Apparently I'm not the only one... Oh yeah, I can assure you my only affiliation with them is only what I mentioned above - an user!
It's true, ikobo's security system is a pretty strict one, some people complained about this. As a response to complaints I suppose they decided that customers buying through ikobo wouldn't have to undergo the whole verification process that merchants have to... still, security is pretty good with them
well, if it's true what an operator from livehelp told be, by the end of this month or the beginning of the next one there will be some major updates with ikobo's site an functionality... let's hope it's true @jasondavis - hehe, yep, doesn't seem to be one
Good to know that they don't stop improving their service And what particular updates are you talking about?
well, the main update is supposed to be an improved http interface, page redesign and all. That's all they've told me... that's all I know, that's all I'm telling you
