I just wrote this entire message and hit submit and was told invalid forum specified and when I hit the back button it erased my entire message. Hopefully it will actually work this time. I was recommended the aMember software but so far have had a pretty bad experience with it. I installed the trial software about two months ago and it installed perfectly fine, but I was swamped with other projects and put it aside until a few days ago. When I tried to log into the admin page it came up blank, despite working 2 months ago. I figured maybe it was because the trial had expired so I removed the database and started from scratch, but ended up getting to step 4 with a supposedly successful installation, but all other pages show as blank. I have searched the forum and found many people complaining of this problem, but no useful information (and often the people asking never get any answer at all!). I have tried this upload & install three times now in the last few days, making sure to use binary mode (I've even tried 3 different ftp programs, and tried uploading and unzipping the file on the server), set the correct permissions for the data folder and subfolder, with no improvement. Now it seems I can't submit a support ticket until next week, and I have a deadline to get this working before the new year, so I'm hoping someone can help me here. I ran the tester and got this result: -------- Testing whether your system has ionCube Loader in php.ini...Failed Testing whether your system has Zend Optimizer in php.ini...OK Testing results: No additional configuration required and aMember will work on your hosting using the following loading method: Zend Optimizer installed Additional information: PHP version 4.4.8 (cgi) OS FreeBSD hokkaido.globat.com 4.11-RELEASE FreeBSD 4.11-RELEASE #0: Fri Ja i386 safe_mode Disabled enable_dl Enabled extension_dir /usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20020429/ PHP Extensions zip, xslt, xmlrpc, xml, wddx, sysvshm, sysvsem, sysvmsg, sockets, snmp, shmop, pspell, posix, pdf, odbc, mysql, mime_magic, mhash, mcrypt, mcal, mbstring, ldap, imap, iconv, gmp, gettext, gd, ftp, fribidi, exif, domxml, dbx, dba, curl, ctype, crack, calendar, bz2, bcmath, zlib, openssl, Zend Optimizer CURL binary /usr/local/bin/curl ----- which indicates everything is fine, which is obviously is not. Can anyone help please? thank you, Worth
Hi Worth, A couple of suggestions: 1. Redownload the Zend version from the aMember website 2. Delete the previously uploaded files/database 3. Upload the newly downloaded Zend version and create the new database 4. Try the installation again If you are getting a blank page, look for an errror.log file in your amember directory path
Thanks for the suggestions, Skippybosco. I've been meaning to come back here and follow up -- the help desk was available that day (I had misread the support page) and were able to get me up and running. Apparently they re-uploaded the software and it worked, not sure why, since I had set my FTP program to binary... *shrug* Either way, they were very helpful. Now I have a completely different kind of issue, more a problem with my web host not supporting cron(!) which I only discovered after setting everything else up. But I'll post that in a new thread. thanks again, Worth
