Hi. I did a search for "subdomains" but couldn't find the answer.

I have installed aMember at mydomain.com/amember and so far it has been protecting folders just great, like mydomain.com/portal. Now, I want it to protect members.mydomain.com subdomain. I'm not sure how to do that. Can it do this? Help appreciated.

is members.mydomain.com also mydomain.com/members? (in some hosts they make subdomains subdirectories of the main domain).. if so, this should be pretty easy.

No. The subdomain is actually hosted at a co-lo, different IP.

You've got me wondering if the solution is to:

    1) create a folder mydomain.com/members
    2) have the index of that folder redirect people to members.mydomain.com
    3) then protect mydomain.com/members

the only problem with that solution is that people can access members.mydomain.com directly without having to login. Hmmmm......

I guess I just realized that it's a lot to ask aMember to protect a subdomain that resides at a co-lo. Not sure what I was thinking.

I'll have to create an access code to sign into that group and only give that access code via the e-mail that goes out to people who sign up via my website using aMember.

That's the best solution I can think of.
