Hi, We currently have amember installed here /data/www/company/ we then added folders we wanted to protect to /data/www/company/folder1 /data/www/company/folder2 These folders protect fine. But we also added this folder /data/www/company/folder3 we do not want it protected. We want the public to be able to access it. I removed all htacces files from it and made sure it was not included in the admin of amember. When we go to this folder as a public user with get "page can not be found" if im a member of amember i get "page can not be found" So it looks like amember is protecting this folder completely so no one has access to it. I then removed /data/www/company/.htaccess file and now the folder is available for the pubic. I understand that amember creates a root .htaccess file to protect its own folders but then it does not allow we to have folder for public access. Are we able to add a line to the /data/www/company/.htaccess file to ignore certain folders?
It is possible, but .htaccess file may be overwritten during upgrade and your changes will be lost. It is better to put protected folders outside of aMember folder.
