Hello, I'm launching a site soon that will be free for all users for at least a couple months. Eventually it will be changed to all paid monthly subscriptions. Is this possible with aMember without manually removing the free subscription and manually adding the paid subscription for each user? Can I just modify the free subscription to be a recurring fee subscription later on? One problem I see is that free subscription (which integrate with the free payment plugin) aren't recurring. If I change it to recurring with payment via Paypal I won't have their paypal address to charge payments to when I do change the free subscription to a paid one. I'm thinking the only way around this is to start with a monthly subscription at $1/month charged via Paypal. Later on just change the subscription price. If I change the subscription price will it affect both new and existing members? I don't want to have to go back and manually change the subscription price for existing members.
Will the accounts expire when you go paid? You may need to do a phpmyadmin sql query to change from lifetime to the end date. Only new members would get charged the new price. But as far as tracking, i think its better to create a new product/price for new members. Don't you want to know the stick rate at $1 vs. $19? David
If they are monthly, then the end date of each payment will be 1 mos after the last payment, or signup. If they signup for free and its set to allow access for 1 mos. it will expire after 1 mos. theres no recurring with a free membership (that ive seen). David
