   I have created my own user field which I have added to the Browse Users table, however I would like to make it wider. I cannot see a way to do this and I presume I need to add or change code in a php or css file? If so I am looking looking for the directory address and file I need to change and perhaps the coding location in that file.

   Width of column depends on its content. I am afraid there is not option to set width explicitly.
