I've been using aMember for several years on a site that sells online courses. It is quite a complex site set up, but works well. However the site is now being moved, for various reasons, to a wordpress install, and all content, including the course content, will be moved to wordpress. This is a basic rundown of what's happening now: 1. Integrations ============ Invision Power Board and Listmail are installed and integrated with aMember 2. Protected content ================ There are approximately 30 directories, each containing a course. Access to each (for one year) is available as an individual product in aMember. There are also 'packages', which give access to some combinations of 3 courses - a course may be in more than one such package. aMember is also used to manage short term subscriptions, such as for live workshop registrations. Subscription to these again gives access to a directory (though it's really the workshop attendance that is being paid for), generally for a shorter period than a year. 3. Membership =========== Basic (free) membership gives access to the forum, adds the user to listmail and allows access to one specified (by us) course. Paid membership could be to a single course or courses, a package or packages, or a workshop, or any combination of the above. As a result of the above, users have an almost infinite combination of items to which they can be subscribed - it's very much the case that almost every member profile is different. Ok, so that's how it is now. This is how it will be (hopefully!!) 1. Integrations ============== Listmail integration to be retained. Forum to move to Simple Machines. Integrate Wordpress 2. Protected content. ================ Courses are now Wordpress categories. Courses will still be sold singly, but packages will be discontinued. Workshops will still be sold through aMember. 3. Membership ============ Free membership as before - forum/listmail/one course - and some other stuff that isn't relevant here. Single courses can be added. Premium membership gives access to ALL courses. Ok, now my questions - it's basically one question "Is it going to be possible to move all this without messing around the members too badly!" But in detail..... 1. I want to retain all current free members as free members - doable? 3. I want to move ALL paid members with currently active subs to Premium membership. Doable? I have a million other questions, but basically I'm looking for a little guidance on how to make this all happen.... Thanks for any assistance anyone can give. Katherine
Yes to both, adding on wordpress and integrating shouldnt have any affect on your current membership. What happened to #2? David
Hi Katherine, We have helped to move and upgrade websites for our clients. That quite a handful of items you need to do - plan well! In addition, in switching to WP, they use the Incremental Content + The Bridge to deliver content via Wordpress. It's been a wonderful journey so far. Cheers, Lee
