Our site has only been available to UK residents until now. We are now offering membership through all of Europe. How can I change the 'State' field in the signup form so it can be entered manually instead of from a drop down list (there are far too many options across Europe).
Hi! Ack, such a simple question? Just take the respective code for the state from html template away and instead use your own and normal html input code so that a user fills in the name of the state. BTW, I tried to solve it differently. I create a dependent drop-down for 5.000 countries and states. It was really ridiculous to see a Kilometer Long listing of it as much as missing programming in the scripts.
Ok - as you say that was not too difficult, but I hate working with smarty templates cos I'm not familiar with them and Amember is the only package I have experienced that uses them. I now have the form working also managed to change the admin Add/Edit User form to work too. So thanks for your input. I still seem to have other issues with the latest version of Amember, but that's the subject of another post which so far has had no reply. It does not appear to create any problems with the updating of the configuration, but is so annoying and did not happen with the previous version of Amember when it ran on the same site. If you have any ideas they would be appreciated. http://www.amember.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5976
AJAX-powered state-province-country list (prefilled for all countries) is implemented and will be released along with next aMember beta release.
