I thought I'd share with the board a few things I learned about clickbank, as these were things that gave me trouble during the set up. The url that you use for your clickbank thankyou url is: .../amember/plugins/payment/clickbank/thanks.php and Not: ../amember/thanks.php It will look like the latter is correct, and it says to use this on the aMember documentation, however, you need to use /amember/plugins/payment/clickbank/thanks.php That longer url will trigger an activation of a member. In the shorter url, you will have to manually activate a member everytime (and who wants that!) Also... just to give you heads up, you will see an error message on page of the url you should be using of: Don't worry about it. The error does not show up when a payment is made. In fact, you have a very nice screen that shows up. Also... when filling out the 'Clickbank id', know that this is the item number, which is most likely going to be item #1, if this is your first product on clickbank. I spent way to much time looking for some kind of a long identification number. Also, I've been told that the recurring billing info needs to be set on both aMember and on Clickbank. My recurring billing is set on a yearly basis, so I haven't had chance to test this yet. And... when filling out your aMember stuff, make sure you have your Clickbank secret phrase in. (It's part of the clickbank amember plugin) Also, I can't say enough about the guidance and the help videos that are available at http://www.MembershipAcademy.com . I have to say that I was surprised at how difficult it was to select and then to integrate all the different softare components that are part of a membership site. Having membership academy there, has been a total godsend. I wish I had found them sooner than later. So... those are just some ahas for those of you dealing with Clickbank.
Just trying to find my secret phrase at clickbank is my only issue now. Any idea how or were I can find my clickbank secret phrase? Thanks Chad
Hi Chad, Log in to your clickbank account and go to https://www.clickbank.com/account/site.htm to set your secret key.
The problem with the "secret phrase" is amember and clickbank call it by a different names In Amember he called it "Your ClickBank secret phrase" Setup/Configuration > Clickbank In Clickbank it's called "Secret Key" under Account Settings > My Site > Secret Key
That is great. I have been trying to figure out the automatic payment thing for days. Thanks How do I customize the thank you page to abide by CB rules
